A powered diesel winch is a mechanical device that boasts robustness and is designed for heavy-duty pulling and lifting operations. It is versatile and ideally suited for deployment in various industrial applications – all thanks to its unique diesel engine. The two variations of the winch are belt type and shaft driven type, both of which are appropriate for use in construction of tower lines, traction lines, tight line operation, and laying cables.
In the case of the belt driven type, it is mainly intended for laying cables underneath the ground. It features four gear boxes. On the other hand, the shaft driven type is meant for the overhead line – it has six gear boxes, making it faster and more expensive than the belt type.
